Major Account Contractor Sales Rep
Position Description
We are looking for a Major Account Contractor Sales Rep in our Electronic and Electrical Solutions (EES) business that can drive sales results and strategic initiatives as well as manage key vendor and customer relationships within the territory. Anixter is a Fortune 500 Company with operations throughout the globe. With more than 50 years of experience and relationships with 5,000 suppliers worldwide, we have the experience and expertise to match the needs of our customers to the latest product offerings and services. The products sold into this customer space will include but not limited to the full electrical scope to include switch gear, lighting, wire & cable, cable tray and electrical bulks. Anixter also offers value added services to complement our product offering.
Responsibilities
The Major Account Contractor Rep – Western US will work as part of a global Contractor Team who are responsible for selling to large industrial electrical contractors in their assigned geography. The assigned geography for this role is the US with particular focus on large electrical contractors. The job will require selling to existing Anixter customers and the development of new accounts with excellence in global project pursuit. This role will require extensive travel including overnight stays on a regular basis including trips to destinations outside of the assigned territory on some occasions. Responsibilities will include customer presentations, contract negotiations, new business development and planning and forecasting. Industry experience is required.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a related major is preferred
- Candidate must demonstrate at least 10 years of success in sales, sales management or territory sales, and have experience selling into the contractor space.
- Candidate must have excellent leadership and communication skills and be able to collaborate effectively with the Anixter field sales teams.
- Demonstrated ability to excel at providing tactical and strategic leadership related to an overall complex global account strategy implementation.
- Sales skills including but not limited to business plan development, forecasting, professional presentation capabilities, sales cycle management, negotiation and closing skills.
- Experience preparing effective sales proposals, reviewing contracts, and customer RFQ’s
- Possess excellent communication skills and follow up across all mediums
- Ability to strategically manage large complex projects
- A confident and determined approach
- Travel Required
- Location of base office preferably California
