Job Summary

Anixter Power Solutions is currently looking for an Expeditor / Customer Service Representative who will be responsible for analyzing and directing the flow of merchandise from the manufacture through distribution center/stores to our customers. This person will lead and support ordering functions for integrated order and delivery solutions. This position will be based out of our Richmond, BC office.

Position Responsibilities

  • Compile various weekly/monthly reports on delivery performance and associated costs
  • Develop daily routing for inbound and outbound merchandise traffic
  • Manage the flow of freight from carrier and customers utilizing routing schedules
  • Provide daily coordination between stores and customers
  • Coordinate smooth and cost-effective flow of merchandise by communicating daily volumes, special pick-ups and deliveries to all parties
  • Provide daily investigation and resolution for misdirected shipments, late deliveries, and customer complaints
  • Maintain ERP system dates of purchase orders and proactively address missed deliveries
  • Handling of all inquiries relative to designated customer accounts
  • Pricing phone, email and fax inquiries
  • Entering, monitoring and ensuring prompt delivery of customer’s orders
  • Maintenance of all relative pricing records in the database
  • Maintaining regular contact with key accounts to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Ensuring tenders are completed and delivered on time
  • Monitoring inventory levels for designated alliance partners
  • Providing follow-up information to your customers on outstanding orders
  • Following up on all designated pricing inquiries to obtain orders and competitive information
  • Participating at all functions relative to the sales/service dept. (i.e. sales meetings, training seminars, etc.)
  • Making joint sales calls with other representatives of the company as required
  • Participating in sales drives on specials and promotional products
  • Training on software pertinent to your function (Trend, MS Office, E-mail etc.)
  • Other duties and tasks, as assigned

Experience / Requirements:

  • 2+ years’ experience as an Expeditor, preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of sales or related experience working in a distribution environment
  • Highly customer focused, with a high degree of commitment to achieving customer satisfaction
  • Competent in MS Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Detail-oriented, able to effectively plan, organize and establish priorities
  • Willingness to commit and work the hours required to fulfill responsibilities
  • Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passionate, motivated, results-oriented
  • Team player
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent decision making abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to learn and adapt to a fast paced environment
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter
  • Working knowledge of a computer based ERP systems, strongly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook), required
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills, required
  • Up to 15% possible travel
