Job Summary

Anixter’s Richmond, BC facility requires a dynamic, highly-motivated, organized team-players to pick, weigh, pack, label and prepare for transportation goods and stock materials. Cycle counts and shelf stocking as required.
Starting rate is $16.71/hour initially, then moves to $21.85/hour after 6 months.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handle all incoming shipments.
  • Perform verification of purchased products and enter order receipts into Anixter’s computer system.
  • Perform quality assurance inspections when appropriate.
  • Place received material, after segregating backorders, into proper warehouse storage locations. When appropriate, relocate and consolidate material and notify management of new bin locations.
  • Pull, pack, weigh and label materials for shipment (including assemble & hold orders).
  • Prepare bills of lading and express receipts.
  • Assist in loading the trucks.
  • Prepare local delivery records and complete applicable blocks on the pick ticket.
  • Maintain appropriate forms pending return of material.
  • Inspect condition of returned material prior to completing return authorization forms.
  • Pull stock and return it to the correct location pending credit memo, sale or return to supplier.
  • Clean warehouse and trucking/parking area.
  • Perform simple machine set-up.
  • May perform tagging, spooling, coiling, cutting operations.
  • Use a variety of hand tools and test equipment.
  • Inspect/test work for quality, resolve simple problems, recognize errors and correct or seek assistance.
  • Clean, prepare, and stage job materials for production according to procedure.
  • Inspect final product to ensure all specifications are met.
  • Ensure the acceptable housekeeping practices are followed.
  • Understand and follow applicable company practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Follow all established safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Forklift operator certification
  • Experience operating a narrow aisle lift truck or order picker
  • Self-motivated team player
  • Very good command of the English language – reading and writing text and numbers is essential.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with physically demanding work.

Working conditions

  • Full time / permanent
  • Monday – Friday.
  • 2 shifts available: 6:30 am - 3 pm, 2:30 pm - 11 pm
  • Physical work, able to lift up to 50lbs
