JOB TITLE: Director Marketing, Brand Strategy

Job Summary:Indicate why the job exists and the overall function or job purpose.

Directs and develops an organization's marketing policies and objectives. Oversees market research and designs marketing plans for specific products, services, or business lines. Reviews changes in the marketplace and recommends marketing strategy to the top management. Supports the development and implementation of marketing strategies to attract customers to company website. Analyzes statistics and identifies areas to optimize marketing performance. Develops marketing content and explores sales channels. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets, policies, and procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Typically requires 10 years of related experience, requires 7+ years of managerial experience. This role can be based out of headquarters in Pittsburgh or Chicago and is not a remote position.

Detailed Description: List the primary duties and responsibilities required to perform this job in order of importance; typically 4 to 6 key responsibilities.

· Leads brand strategy, architecture, portfolio management and governance for a $16B global B2B corporation

· Builds WESCO’s unique brand position, increasing awareness in key markets

· Ensures that corporate brands accurately convey the core value and positioning of the company, its businesses and its offerings

· Ensures effective management of department operations, metrics and budgets, adjusting and taking corrective action as needed

· Maintains an understanding of market, technology and competitive trends to inform business decisions

· Works with marketing management team to develop and maintain centralized marketing calendar and identify overlapping initiatives.

· Works with leadership to develop and deploy corporate brand objectives and plans, including:

Brand Strategy:

- Manages brand platform (i.e., brand positioning, promise, messaging, visual identity)

- Creates and delivers foundational brand tools such as image libraries, graphic elements and templates

- Deploys comprehensive brand guidelines that encompass masterbrand, sub-brands, products/services

- Provides guidance to businesses and product groups in refreshing and managing their individual brands

- Collaborates with digital marketing to ensure all brand approaches are optimized for both traditional and digital mediums

Brand Architecture:

- Ensures adherence to corporate masterbrand approach across the global enterprise

- Develops roadmaps to harmonize go-to-market brands, product/service brands and digital offerings

- Creates and maintains brand governance standards; provides oversight to ensure consistent use

This role can be based out of headquarters in Pittsburgh or Chicago and is not a remote position.

  • 7 years required, 10 years preferred experience in corporate marketing and/or brand
  • 5 years of experience required managing and leading marketing, branding, communications and/or merchandising programs.
