Manager of Brand Governance

The Manager of Brand Governance supports the brand strategy, visual identity management and implementation, and brand architecture through a complete articulation of standards, guidelines and specifications. It will be the primary responsibility of this role to achieve strategic alignment and consistency with the WESCO and WESCO | Anixter brand standard guidelines in all internal and external communications and marketing activities. The Manager of Brand Governance will also be responsible for updating and maintaining a comprehensive and coordinated brand governance program focused on ensuring WESCO, WESCO’s subsidiaries and Anixter adhere to the new brand standards and governance guidelines.

Job Description

- Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Brand & Marketing Communications, ensure all internal and external communications, marketing programs and company branded assets meet and adhere to the criteria set forth in the new WESCO and WESCO | Anixter Brand Standards Reference Guide and adheres to all WESCO | Anixter communications governance standards and guidelines.

- Participate in the assessment of current and future needs regarding the development of brand identity for WESCO and WESCO | Anixter.

- Guide the organization with clearly documented governance processes and confidently recommend changes to meet brand governance standards if criteria is not met

- Consult with key internal stakeholders (creative, subsidiaries, Strategic Business Unit Marketing Leads, etc.) to ensure strategic alignment with enterprise architecture is met

- Oversee WESCO and Anixter’s trademark and domain portfolio and brand governance budget

- Manage the onboarding of new enterprise brand assets and decommissioning of retired assets

- Monitor, review and respond to Governance related requests

- Produce brand governance tools, e. g. score cards, dashboards/reports and training to drive adherence and meet standards effectively

- Educate and inform agencies and internal and external clients (when necessary) through standards and ongoing communications; ensure all initiatives, materials and assets are properly branded and aligned to the WESCO and WESCO | Anixter brand standards

- Oversee monitoring and remediation of external infringements

- Manage the Brand Governance budget and related budget reporting

-Manage all programs within our brand harmonization projects to encompass short-term and long-term projects

- Build and develop relationships with key internal and external partner groups to ensure brand standards compliance are met

The person will bring with them:

- A proven track record of building and managing a successful brand governance program

- Experience with Fortune 500 or brand governance or brand specialization work with B-to-B companies

- Knowledge of Brand and its role in the organization

- Knowledge of Identity standards and guidelines

- Understanding where flexibility is called for versus rigid standards

- Strong communication, interpersonal and people skills

- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

-Strong presentation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels in the organization required

-Demonstrated ability to work independently but a collaborative nature will yield results for this role

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Business: Marketing, Communications and Journalism

- At least 5 years of brand governance or brand management experience

Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s Degree in Advertising or Communications a plus

-Additional Brand Management/Strategy Certifications a plus

- 4 years or more of brand governance or management experience in a Fortune 500 organization or 4 years of brand governance or brand management experience in a B-to-B environment
