Manager – Cybersecurity Operations and Incident Response

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager of cybersecurity operations and incident response.

Position Summary:

We are currently searching for a Manager to join our global Cybersecurity Team. This position will be responsible for overseeing our managed security service provider (MSSP) and lead our incident response program. The leader will be responsible for ensuring that the MSSP adheres to expectations laid out in the contract and serve as the internal escalation point to resolve issues with the MSSP. Additionally, this person will lead all elements of the incident response program including directing the Security Operations Center, developing the Incident Response Plan and Run Books, conducting table top exercises, and act as the incident response manager during an actual cybersecurity incident. This person will be a key leader of the cybersecurity team and will report directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). This role interacts will all members of the cybersecurity team, infrastructure team, other functional IT teams, Legal, and Human Resources.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the direction of the cybersecurity operations team to ensure the contractual expectations and SLAs are met
  • Serve as an escalation point to the cybersecurity operations team for the internal organization
  • Lead dispute resolution efforts between cybersecurity operations team and the internal organization
  • Drive continual improvement efforts to increase efficiencies, reduce costs, implement industry best practices, and bring down mean time to resolve for incidents
  • Work with the security operations center to implement new use cases, new detection rules, and automate responses to incident detection
  • Develop monthly metrics to help leadership gauge the health of the cyber operations program and recommend areas for improvement
  • Attend weekly CAB meetings to represent operational changes for cybersecurity as well as evaluate changes from other functional pillars that might adversely impact cybersecurity
  • Responsible for creation and on-going development of the cybersecurity incident response plan
  • Develop run books that will be utilized in a cybersecurity incident for the most significant threats that are targeted for our industry
  • Lead table top events for both the cybersecurity incident response teams (CIRTs) and executive teams to ensure that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities
  • Perform all the duties of the Incident Response Manager including directing the technical efforts of the CIRT as well as keeping executive leadership informed of status and progress
  • Ensure that required improvements to prevent cybersecurity incidents from happening again are implemented effectively

Required Qualification

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT or Cybersecurity Operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/computer science/cybersecurity is preferred
  • Experience leading teams and developing strategy
  • Experience with SIEM technologies and developing queries
  • Experience working with managed service providers to improve service levels
  • CISSP or similar professional experience is preferred

Desired Technical Qualifications: (OPTIONAL)

  • Use of Microsoft office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Use of Visio for creating technical designs and process flows
