Job Summary:

Due to our continued growth, we are currently recruiting for a highly motivated team player as an Outside Sales Representative for our Vancouver OEM team.

The successful candidate will be a consummate and credible sales professional positioning Anixter’s products and solutions to the OEM Market. This role is focused on territory ownership through solution selling and is best suited for “results driven” personalities.

Job duties:

  • Effectively perform a needs assessment and develop detailed account strategies
  • Work in collaboration with the inside sales, operations, credit, finance and legal teams to ensure satisfactory completion of all processes that may affect your customers experience.
  • Work with internal sales resources as well as external partners to satisfy your customers’ requirements for products and/or services we may offer.
  • Prepare sales activity, expense reports and attend monthly pipeline reviews.
  • Participate in sales meetings, professional association seminars and workshops as required.
  • Stay current on market business and product trends

Job Requirements:

Reporting directly to the Location Manager, the successful candidate should possess:

Experience & Education:

  • Min 3 -5 years of sales experience to the OEM market. Specializing in “solution selling”.
  • Experience with territory and account planning and reporting.
  • Proven experience in organizing sales calls and schedules, and evidence of detailed reporting is required.

Job-specific knowledge:

  • Ability to work with Inside Sales Reps to target potential customers.
  • Ability to develop and execute business plans to grow your business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, Sales Management Systems and Microsoft Office

Skills & Attributes:

  • Ability to develop strong relationships at various levels, with customers and vendors.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and self-motivation.
  • Eagerness to contribute beyond immediate duties and getting the job done
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent decision making abilities

  • Excellent listening skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

Critical to your success in the role will be your ability to prospect new business and to develop, maintain and manage strong and lasting relationships with customers.
