Job Summary

The primary role of the Strategic Supplier Program Manager is to drive increased revenue for both Supplier and Anixter across Canada. This role will be responsible for leading in the creation and implementation of the Supplier business plan, as well as drive and facilitate engagement between Supplier and Anixter staff across the organizations. The role will additionally involve responsibility for proactively working with Supplier field resources, Supplier & Anixter inside sales and Supplier & Anixter management, and responsibility for planning and executing our event-based marketing activities (distribution events, promotions and Anixter office visits).

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement annual business development plan with quarterly updated and annual review on sales progress and business developments.
  • Act as the field leader for Anixter engaging with the Supplier teams to develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Planning pre and post event engagement/follow-up activities as well as attending Anixter/Supplier events as the representative of the Supplier team at Anixter.
  • Executing all Supplier promotions and completing floor walks with the local Supplier team.
  • Obtain Supplier Certification, continue education for Supplier solution knowledge and can articulate the opportunity for an IT reseller to add a network video solution practice to their current offering.
  • Understand Supplier competition and can relate competitive threats back to Anixter and Supplier.
  • Understand and match the individual needs of new and existing Supplier Partners to resources available from Anixter and Supplier.
  • Planning and executing joint customer visits along with Supplier field teams to engage with high profile existing and new channel partners. Provide a quarterly report.
  • Ensure account owners from Anixter and Supplier are keeping a detailed up to date joint business plan
  • Tracking of high-profile projects (bridges the gap between the teams from Anixter, Supplier, and the Reseller).
  • Working closely with Anixter inside account managers to drive project business, assist with project pricing, project registration and regularly report pipeline status back to Supplier.
  • Work closely with Supplier counterparts globally to assure consistency in job duties and account oversite of global business.
  • Work closely with Supplier End Customer team, set up quarterly review calls
  • Monitor and make recommendations on inventory levels for projects and communicate to Supplier & Anixter Operations.

Travel is required to Anixter & Supplier offices, local events, and industry trade shows. The Strategic Supplier Program Manager is often the face of Supplier and is expected to be a role model of professionalism. Periodic international travel may be required.

Job Requirements

Reporting directly to the NSS Regional Business Director, the successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

Experience, Knowledge & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree /diploma or equivalent electronic trade training
  • Experience working with cameras, physical access control, and computer networks
  • 3+ years’ in sales driven position. Outside sales experience, strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical background
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills (verbal/written fluency in French, considered a strong asset)
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Strong interpersonal and selling skills, including the ability to listen and tailor presentation to meet customer needs
