Location and Scope of Responsibility

Location: This position will be based out of our Mississauga, Ontario office

Regional Responsibility: Primary customer locations will be in Ontario and Quebec; however, responsibility will extend globally on a per project basis.

Position Description and Requirements

The Director, Sales: Global Accounts, Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) is responsible for the sales growth and development of several targeted sales opportunities within Anixter’s global industrial construction business. The objective is to align Anixter’s vast resources to our clients’ needs on a global scale to maximize our growth opportunity inside each customer. This individual is responsible developing and implementing a market selling strategy to large scale EPC & end user customers, becoming a subject matter expert on the process multi-national EPC’s use to solicit, procure, and execute projects, and leading a team of resources to exploit opportunities globally within the customers assigned. This role will be responsible for identifying, selecting, documenting (via pipeline), communicating (with supporting business leaders at Anixter), and closing key projects within assigned accounts.

The successful candidate should possess the following background, skills, and competencies:

  • Possess abilities to develop and execute strategies to attract, grow, and maintain global customer relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to excel at providing tactical and strategic leadership related to an overall complex global account strategy implementation.
  • Sales skills including but not limited to business plan development, forecasting, professional presentation capabilities, sales cycle management, negotiation and closing skills.
  • Experience preparing effective sales proposals, reviewing contracts, and customer RFQ’s
  • Possess excellent communication skills and follow up across all mediums
  • Ability to mold behavior to align closely with particular culture you are serving

Your sales skills need be unrivaled, but it also helps if you have:

  • University Degree in Engineering is preferred
  • Several years of sales experience required
  • Ability to strategically manage multiple complex projects
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Preference for multi-lingual candidates (e.g. French), to support regional travel activities.
  • A confident and determined approach
