The Electrical & Electronic Solutions (EES) group currently has a career opportunity for a dynamic, highly motivated team player in the role of National Sales Manager - Transit & Transportation Vertical working directly with SVP EES division. The driving force behind creating this highly focused position is the already approved and anticipated spend on transit and transportation infrastructure across the country in the next 5 to 15 years. Estimated capital budgets of more than $10 Billion over this time frame have already been approved and we are confident in our ability to add value to the firms that will support this growth and development. The successful candidate chosen for this position will lead our efforts with this vertical.

We currently have an outstanding career opportunity for a highly motivated team player as a National Sales Manager for our National EES Team, to handle the Transit & Transportation market vertical.

  • Map a plan to grow the vertical market business and fully implement this plan with assistance from various resources, i.e. Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Security & Industrial Communication Sales Managers, Engineering, Marketing and Vendors.
  • Manage all the Transit Construction Pipeline. Develop & implement strategies to win each opportunity. Work will all sales functions nationally.
  • Develop and position Anixter to be the supplier of preference through product specification and Supply Chain Services.
  • Work with Inside Reps targeting & developing potential customers and both Inside & Outside Sales Reps expanding existing customer sales.


  • Proven sales skill at navigating complex customer structures and connecting the project pipeline amongst owner, engineering and construction contractors.
  • 3-5 years of sales experience in Transit & Transportation business sector, an asset.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships at various levels with customers & vendors.
  • Solid presentation and business communication skills.
  • Proven experience in developing new sales and accounts.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and self-motivation.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Experience with territory, account planning and reporting
  • Ability to maintain a strong line of communication with colleagues internally.
  • Ability to work with engineering customers and specify unique product offerings.
