The OSR role to be based in the Anixter office in Calgary, Alberta working with the Sales team. Candidates living in the greater Edmonton, Alberta area will also be considered for remote employment.

Position Purpose:

The Outside Sales Representative (OSR) role requires a consultative mind set focused on driving customer value and business efficiencies via Anixter’s distribution and services portfolio. Understanding the Utility and Contractor customer business needs while managing our Vendor relationships and contractual offers requires a solutions oriented mind set.
The OSR will develop new prospects and drive organic growth within existing customer accounts utilizing their knowledge of the Anixter product and services offers. Responsible to profitably grow sales to achieve yearly sales goals within a dedicated account base and identifying growth opportunities in emerging industries and markets; responsible for prospecting for new accounts, retaining and growing opportunities with existing customers.

Responsibilities include:

* Manages sales targets and relationships with existing customer accounts.
* Develops and sustains customer road map and account strategy for sales relationships with key decision makers and influencers at all levels of an organization.
* Forecasts, prospects, and bids for new business and additional service opportunities.
* Conducts on-site customer visits to manage the Procurement & Engineering business needs.
* Shares market and competitive intelligence with all applicable channels within the organization.
* Partners with customers, vendors, Credit, and A/R to quickly resolve customer service issues.
* Coordinates with the Customer Service Representatives and oversight of order/delivery execution.
* May conduct negotiations with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers.
* Assists in training or mentoring of CSR associates.

We are looking for candidates with:

* Demonstrated consultative selling/solution selling experience is required.
* Knowledge of Electrical Utility customer and contractor business needs.
* Experience selling in Distribution services and Inventory Management industry.
* Ability to manage quotas in alignment with UPS objectives and incentive compensation plan.
* Knowledge in Anixter product line and core customers is preferred.
* Undergraduate Degree is preferred.
