Position Purpose: The primary responsibility of this position is to handle purchasing activities for stock materials, maintain/change ordering controls based on historical usage and current demand, and help manage customer and vendor relationships.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
* Demand planning based on a pre-defined category, ensuring that Anixter receives the inventory needed quickly, efficiently and within budget
* Use analysis results to improve supply chain processes, performance and to reduce costs * Build relationships with customers’ commodity managers to develop synergies
* Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and report monthly progress
* Optimize purchasing activities while considering all supply chain uncertainty factors
* Work with cross-functional teams such as sourcing, finance, operations, project teams, and more.

Education & Experience:
* A bachelor's degree or higher in business, supply chain, economics, computer science or engineering.
* Certification in operator or vendor management, such as the APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) is preferred.
* 0-2+ years of experience working in procurement /sourcing and inventory management in a wholesale environment with a high growth wholesaler
* Knowledge of supply chain processes, such as sales and operations planning, MRP, forecasting, demand and supply planning, indirect procurement, materials management and logistics highly desired
* Use of various software and computer applications, such as Oracle, SAP, and Microsoft Office programs * Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences
* A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate him/herself and others; easily accepts constructive input from others
