Position Description

Here is an exciting career opportunity to join Anixter’s Global Supply Chain Solutions Team as a Project/Program Implementation Manager. The primary responsibility is to successfully lead and coordinate complex project/program implementations and ensure all contractual obligations and timelines are met.  The Implementation Manager coordinates and prioritizes project tasks, leads functional teams, manages timelines, maintains project plans and communicates status to Engagement Managers, Senior Management and Clients as needed. Additionally, the IM will often work with clients and project leads and travel on-site as needed.  The IM will be responsible for managing multiple projects at one time and participating in internal projects as needed.

 

The successful candidate should possess the following background, skills, and competencies:

  • Excellent communication and customer (internal and external) management skills

  • Ensure customer (internal and external) satisfaction through constant communication and follow-up.

  • Assist as needed in the development of Scope of Work documents during developmental stages of project/program opportunities which may include draft implementation plans.

  • Determine implementation requirements and formalize written plans based upon contractual agreements and SOW

  • Manage functional group teams based upon defined project implementation plan

  • Strong leader in a balanced matrix organization

  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects/tasks.

  • Ability to assert control with large groups of individual contributors and functional teams and quickly coordinate groups into a team environment

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization (sales, operations, IT, marketing, product management, purchasing, senior management and customer).

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks that could impact budget, cost, schedule or business operations.

  • Strong Presentation Skills

  • Travel is required

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • PMP Certification (or applicable history, equivalent)

  • Minimum of 2-5 years experience managing project implementations (EES, NSS, UPS business)

  • Background in electrical “bulks”, electrical wire & Cable, OEM type products, T&D, MRO, AV Enterprise products

  • Microsoft Suite (MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio)

  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation and computer skills required

  • Initiator, strong organizational, presentation, interpersonal and consultative skills

  • Independent and self starter with the ability to work remotely
