Primary Function:

The Fulfillment Specialist is responsible for transforming customer-initiated requests for product into timely, competitive, and profitable solutions. This individual will have the ability to gain knowledge of various supplier landscapes and create the optimal solution for both the customer and Anixter.

The team member will be expected to leverage their regional market expertise, supplier relationships and negotiation skills to assist internal stakeholders to help best position Anixter to be successful.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of commercial priorities, supplier capabilities, and customer requirements
  • Coordinate sourcing engagements with internal teams in opportunity identification, supplier onboarding and quote response
  • Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models
  • Negotiate and manage special pricing contracts with suppliers
  • Serve as a liaison between Category Management, Sales and suppliers.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers to focus on potential opportunities and identify risks resulting from market shifts and supply fluctuations
  • Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet customer commitments and organizational goals
  • Participate in cross-functional improvement and process design initiatives
  • Interact consistently with stakeholders to further integrate fulfillment initiatives throughout the company

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of previous Sourcing, Purchasing or Inside Sales experience strongly preferred
  • RFP, BOM and quote management experience preferred
  • Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems
  • Proven ability to drive and demonstrate results both financially and strategically
  • Possesses a clear understanding of suppliers, customers, and Anixter’s key capabilities
  • Ability to identify profitable business opportunities and work with Sales leadership to review and convert strategic quotation opportunities
  • Ability to think critically and implement effective solutions
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analysis to leverage data and make informed business decisions
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to partner with people throughout the organization
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences
  • A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual - able to motivate him/herself and others; easily accepts constructive input from others
  • Cross functional experience with a global organization
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel
