Supply Chain Analyst – Buyer

Position Profile:

Anixter is seeking a Supply Chain Analyst / Buyer at our global headquarters in Glenview, IL. This position is responsible for both purchasing and placement of product to best service our customers. You would be responsible for managing a multi-million dollar product portfolio while being accountable for providing great customer service and meeting inventory turn goals.

Responsibilities & Duties:

· Purchase material into over 30 distribution centers across North America, using past sales data, customer forecasts, and supplier lead times to maintain inventory at appropriate levels

· Create model inventory programs based on geography and market

· Analyze sales trends and customer forecasts to determine where and how much inventory be in each region

· Determine what orders are needed urgently to keep supply chain moving; work with suppliers to expedite open purchase orders

· Reduce the amount of excess & obsolete inventory by utilizing vendor return programs and stock balancing

· Coordinate inventory deliveries with sales team to make sure we meet or exceed customer expectations

· Monitor key performance metrics including inventory turns, service levels, and supplier lead times

· Collaborate with sales, accounts payable, operations, product management, finance and project management to solve issues and improve customer service

· Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business; coursework in Supply Chain, Operations, or Economics a plus

· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

· Detail oriented and analytical

· 0-3 years of purchasing experience

· Excellent communication and organization skills

· Have excellent customer service skills – able resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner
