Primary Function:

The Sourcing Operations Analyst is responsible for serving as the productivity engine for preparation and categorization of all Anixter Sourcing-related materials and documentation. This role will manage the daily sourcing activity including vendor selection, item cost negotiation, and quotation preparation. The individual will have a dedicated focus on Sourcing item and document management to support customer engagement activity.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the productivity/efficiency aspects of the Sourcing process to maximize order conversion, quote response cycle time, and operating earnings
  • Identify sources for products/services in support of customer requests in a timely manner – ensure proper product selections, matches, and/or alternatives
  • Negotiate cost, terms, and conditions with suppliers respective to each individual sourcing opportunity
  • Support team members on product and source inquiries
  • Utilize performance measurements/metrics to evaluate accuracy, conversion, and efficiency of RFP management
  • Able to gather quantitative and qualitative information and analyze data to formulate valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action
  • Participate in cross-functional improvement and process design initiatives/teams
  • Analyze provided data and collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external business partners ensuring complete understanding of the opportunity and execute the optimal strategy
  • Interact consistently with stakeholders to further integrate sourcing initiatives throughout the company
  • Regularly analyze and assess current processes to develop solutions for automation and improved productivity

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1-3 years of supply chain-related experience
  • Previous experience working with Power BI or other data analytic tools a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of electrical and networking products a plus
  • MS Office knowledge – ability to create and manipulate data sets
  • Demonstrated experience balancing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong business acumen and decision-making aptitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to partner with people throughout the organization
  • Possesses a clear understanding of customer expectations and supplier capabilities
  • Process management skills – process mapping and root cause analysis
  • Results-driven and deadline-oriented
  • Ability to work independently and complete projects in a timely manner
  • A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual - able to motivate him/herself and others; easily accepts constructive input from others
