Primary Function:

Anixter is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Manager who will be responsible for modeling complex supply chain problems, discovering company insights and identifying opportunities using statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques. In addition to advanced analytic skills, this role is also proficient at integrating and preparing large, varied datasets, and communicating results.

A successful candidate will need a combination of business leadership focus, strong analytical and problem-solving skills and programming knowledge to be able to quickly cycle hypothesis through the discovery phase of the project. Excellent written and communications skills to report back the findings in a clear, structured manner are required. Additionally, they will be responsible for the following:

  • A Supply Chain Planning Manager is responsible for demand planning, using statistical analysis models, supply planning, to determine how the demand will be sourced and ensure receiving the inventory needed quickly, efficiently, and within budget.
  • Manage the Supply Chain Planning team in the development of constantly evolving strategies.
  • Obtain, analyze and interpret supply chain relevant data. Generate, overview and review Statistical Forecast and forecast error. Manage & monitor inventory health on the daily basis, identifying focus areas and driving appropriate actions to achieve inventory targets. Define allocation plans for constrained products, ensuring optimal inventory deployment across geographies & segments to achieve sell-through.
  • Recommend how to improve supply planning systems and processes to achieve greater efficiency & scale. Drive implementation & adoption of new capabilities.
  • Monitor the inventories and track the performance of current supply methods and provide ways to improve that process
  • Use analysis results to improve supply chain processes, performance and to reduce costs. Perform analyses & build ‘what-if’ scenario models to support decision making; work to improve data systems and develop new reporting tools to improve supply visibility & accuracy.
  • Gather, analyze, integrate, and report on quantitative and qualitative data. Perform analyses with this data using analytical models and mathematical analysis. Deliver comprehensive reports in presentation and / or written form.
  • Understand data governance and control distribution of company inventory data points.
  • Find new insights and trends which will help identify and solve complicated supply chain problems.
  • Collaborate with all areas of the supply chain to identify and understand inventory opportunities.
  • Work with IT Department to enhance current and future inventory systems.

Education & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration, computer science, required.
  • A certification in operator or vendor management, such as the APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or the APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), nice to have.
  • 7-10 years of experience working in the planning and inventory solutions in a wholesale environment with a high growth wholesaler, required
  • Use of various software and computer applications, such as Oracle, SAS, APO and Microsoft Office programs, required
  • Extensive knowledge of Supply Chain processes, such as Sales and Operations Planning, MRP, Forecasting, Demand and Supply Planning, Indirect Procurement, Materials Management and Logistics.
  • Detail oriented, ability to communicate complex problems and solutions, strong drive to collaborate, strong bias for action to close out problems, very comfortable working with numbers.
  • Strong analytical capabilities & experience with statistical tools (Advanced Excel, basic SQL, basic R/Python, regression analysis)
  • Strong process/system background and proven ability to rapidly understand, use and drive improvements in new processes/systems
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences.
  • A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate him/herself and others; easily accepts constructive input from others.
