Position Purpose:

This Category Manager position will be primarily focused on managing a portfolio of professional A/V product solutions for a variety of enterprise and commercial environments. Prior experience with suppliers and technologies within the professional A/V market is strongly desired.

In the role you will be responsible for managing multiple supplier relationships/programs and creating marketing plans to promote growth and profitability. You will become the supplier’s primary point of contact and a valuable strategic resource for the sales team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing profitable growth strategies with key suppliers supported by executable initiatives that deliver results in line with short and long term company goals
  • Build and maintain outstanding supplier relationships.
  • Articulate supplier’s value and differentiating features & benefits to internal sales team.
  • Articulate Anixter’s value, capabilities and differentiating features to our supplier partners and customers.
  • Monitor inventory levels and product performance. Work with Inventory Management team to develop inventory models and replenishment strategies
  • Lead and implement business performance reviews, developmental plans, and supplier negotiations
  • Develop and maintain sales tools.
  • Maintain appropriate product information databases and internal website.
  • Understand key business drivers for product categories to support sales growth.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Sales/Marketing
  • Professional A/V market experience preferred
  • Post-secondary education in related field or equivalent related work experience.
  • Ability to exceed expectations through relentless execution of a plan.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Possess the ability to work independently, as well as a strong team player.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where continuous learning is required in order to grow personally and professionally.
  • Computer skills; MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point)
