Primary Function:

We're looking for a summer 2020 Inventory Management Business Intelligence (BI) to work at our corporate office in Glenview, IL. Our internship program within the Global Inventory Management Team is a 10-12 week paid program that will encompass various aspects of inventory management strategy for a Fortune 500 organization. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop project plans, manage resources, and complete tasks per established timing guidelines as well as communicate findings and project status through presentations and reports.


The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Convert business requirements and high-level data collection needs into well-specified analyses, reporting and visualizations.

  • Engage business partners while considering external competitive or cooperative opportunities, in-house and key stakeholder inputs, as well as existing corporate knowledge.

  • Collect, analyze, cleanse, validate and report data to meet Inventory Management’s needs.

  • Identify new sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting.

  • Update existing data sets relative to Inventory Management, Procurement and MDM, and conduct basic statistical analysis of the data.

  • Collect Business Partners’ requirements, determine technical issues, and design reports to meet data analysis needs.

  • Ensure functional and/or technical documentation is provided to secure a successful handover of the solution, where appropriate.

  • Support and mange project management activities, business change and adoption by coordinating delivery through to release.

  • Excellent analytical and data visualization skills using both Microsoft tools and R.

  • Strong investigative and troubleshooting skills.


Education & Experience:

  • Students must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate bachelor's degree or master’s degree program to be eligible.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Must pass background check and drug screen.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship or STEM/OPT extensions. 

  • Must have recent or relevant work experience or related college involvement.

  • Must be living in or expressed interest in moving to the location of internship (Sorry, housing and relocation expenses will not be offered for this position.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science or other related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred

  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences.

  • A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate him/herself and others; easily accepts constructive input from others.
